Markey Dietrich – USACI Sound & Deep South Nationals
Markey Dietrich’s
hometown is Kenner, Louisiana. He runs a
small body shop that does mainly commercial
work for large companies.
Markey has been involved in competition car audio since 1994 when his daughter expressed interest in it. He built her Geo Storm and campaigned it in 1995, then went to USAC Finals in Houston. The car placed in the top 10 in the 251-500 Consumer Class.
The next year he built his wife's car for 101-250 Consumer. It placed 4th that year at USAC. It was rebuilt in 1997, placed 2nd at finals, and went to the Best of Show round. It took 2nd again in 1998.
In 1999 the first car was lost in a traffic accident on our way to Padre. (Now you know why I don't do Padre...)
His present car was built with the idea of making both IASCA and USACi Finals. He judged USACi shows during that time. After the car was built, one of it's first shows was the Perry Invitational. It won its class and was the highest placing Amateur car in the Top 25 that year. It went to IASCA and USACi Finals and won both.
After that season, the car was painted as it is now and moved to the Pro ranks. The car always placed in the top 5 at shows. It placed 4th at IASCA and broke through at USACi with a 1st place and Best of Show. 2 more wins followed in 2001 and 2002. In 2002 it won at IASCA also.
Markey have been a USACi judge off and on since 1997 and judged the Grand Master class at USACi Finals in 2003.
His other hobbies/interests are racquetball, nitro r/c cars, and fresh water tropical fish. Markey is a grandfather, and enjoys watching his grandson grow. He is trying to groom his grandson into car audio and other things.

Ben Vollmer – Deep South Nationals & USACI Sound
I've
been an auto enthusiast for as long as I can
remember. From playing with matchbox
cars at an early age to my first stereo in my
first car; cars are what make me tick. I am
also a gadget addict and computer freak. From
my first car audio system in the early 1990’s
until now, I have been deeply entrenched in
trying to get realistic sound from an
automobile environment. I am also a devoted
Audi fan, owning over 10 of them, including
one that I put over 300k miles on and flogged
relentlessly. I'm an active IASCA, MECA
and USACi competitor with all three of my
vehicles. My A4 has won the SLAP National
Championships, and I have placed second in
IASCA and USACi World Finals two years.
In my spare time I run Car Audio
Nationals. I am especially thankful for my
awesome wife of almost 10 years and our two
boys, who are very understanding of Dad’s
weird ways.
