Deep South Nationals is a Top 30 Sound Quality Money Round. DSN will be held in conjunction with Scrapin the Coast in Biloxi, MS at the Gulf Coast Coliseum on June 21st – 22nd, 2008.

This year we are going to expand the car stereo section of Scrapin the Coast with the inception of Deep South Nationals Top 30 SQ Round to go along with the annual USACI soundoff. Several manufactures have already pledged support of the Prize Pot that will go directly to the winners of the Top 30 Round. Also, the winners will receive stunning awards. The 1st place trophy is a 4’ custom painted surfboard. The awards for 2nd -10th place will be 13x10” full color plaques.

Because of the overwhelming interest in Deep South Nationals Top 30 Money Round, we anticipate there will be well over 30 cars vying for a chance to compete in Deep South Nationals (DSN). So to be FAIR to everyone that would like to participate, we will use the USACi results from Saturday the 21st to qualify for the DSN on Sunday the 22nd.

USACi registration begins on Friday the 20th and will continue until 1 P.M. on Saturday the 21st. USACi judging will began at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday the 21st. All competitors that would like to be considered for entrance into DSN must be in the SQ lanes by 1:15 P.M on Saturday the 21st. There are 9 USACi classes (7 Sound & Install / 2 Sound Only, DTS will not be offered), and the top 3 cars from each class will receive an invitation for DSN. The last few spots will be filled with at-large bids handed out by the Usaci Judging staff for cars they feel deserve to be in the round of 30.

All competitors will be contacted Saturday evening as soon as the results from the USACi event are tabulated.

Deep South Nationals will have a designated parking area where every competitor will be assigned a space at check-in on Sunday morning. (On Saturday, after Usaci Judging, parking anywhere on the show grounds is fine.)

DSN check-in on Sunday the 22nd will began at 6 A.M. and end at 7:15 A.M. There will be NO exceptions. Judging will began promptly at 7:30 A.M. and end between 3:30 and 4 P.M.

DSN will have eight top-notch judges. Each judge will evaluate every car from the driver’s seat and will score the car to the best of their ability. Every competitor’s score sheet will be totaled, and the high and low score will be removed from their final score.

DSN’s judges will use their own disks (commercially available, no CD-R’s) to evaluate each car. This will allow the best cars to rise to the top by being adaptive to all types of music.

There will be power provided in the DSN parking area on Sunday. Competitors will be allowed to use power supply’s during judging, but are responsible to bring extension cords, battery chargers, and duck tape to secure wires to the ground.

Window coverings other than tint will not be allowed on the windshield or the front side windows.

Deep South Nationals is not responsible for equipment or vehicle malfunctions; this is the competitor’s responsibility. If there is a problem, 5 minutes will be allowed to make repairs. After 5 minutes, the vehicle must be judged or given a score of zero by that judge. Repeated repairs will not be allowed. Absolutely no refunds will be given.

DSN will have one of the best judging staffs assembled in many years. All judging decisions are finals…NO exceptions. There is no appeals process; again, all decisions are FINAL.

Rules are subject to change without notification until Monday, June 16th 2008. At that time event rules will be locked in place.
